Pre-Employment Testing

One of the most common services we are contracted out for is a pre-employment testing that will answer whether a candidate for hire has any illegal substances in their system. This is done to protect the company from hiring someone who is actively using drugs.

You can probably imagine the amount of liability that could open the company up to, and no one wants to put themselves in that position. Instead, they reach out to us to work with them on getting a pre-employment testing done of any and all potential hires to make sure they are good candidates for employment.

Post-Accident Testing

In certain lines of work, it may be necessary to do a post-accident testing of an employee who has gotten involved in an accident of some kind. When that is the case, they may need to be drug tested to ensure that the accident was not the direct result of the employee having been on drugs. In some cases, this is required by law. However, employers will surely want to know if their workers may have been under the influence of substances that caused them to be involved in an accident in the first place. It is one of those things that is better to have answers on than to not.

Random Drug Testing

Another way that some employers work to make sure their employees are not under the influence of substances while at work is to institute random drug testing. By choosing to screen employees at random, it is possible for an employer to make sure their workforce members are not under the influence of drugs when they come to work.

The randomness of it is a great thing as well, because it means that they never know when they will potentially be tested. It prevents them from preparing in any way for testing. This means that the results will be accurate and the employer will know for sure if their employees have been using illicit substances or not.

Reasonable Suspicion/Cause

An employer who has a reasonable suspicion or cause to believe that a particular employee may be under the influence of illegal substances has the right (and the obligation) to get that employee tested to verify or refute what they suspect.

Return to Duty Testing

Before some employees can return to the workforce, they may be subjected to a drug test. This is to verify that they have not engaged in the use of illegal substances while they have been away from work. This is particularly likely if they were initially suspended from their work as the result of illegal drug use in the first place.

Follow-Up Testing

It may be necessary to conduct a second or follow-up drug test on someone who has already gone through one round of testing. This may be done to verify the accuracy of the first test. This is yet another service that we provide to employers.
